Author and Illustrator

Mr. Mabaso is a prolific writer and illustrator of children's book. He has written more than 48 books and illustrated 15 books, of which over half are self published. These books are mainly readers, some of which have been translated into other South African official languages.

Mr, Mabaso is a founder of the Njabulo Publishers, which has been in operation since 2007. The idea of starting a publishing entity was born out of necessity. The barriers to entry into the children's books are high and do not allow flexibility to combine writing and illustrating. Njabulo Publishers, was thus, established to allow Mr. Mabaso to freely exercise his creative concepts in the medium of books and illustrations.

Books such as the Gimba The Red Taxi series, Imilolozelo (IsiZulu illustrated Nursery Rhyms), Wafa Nogwaja and Jomba the Porcupine are the popular titles in the Njabulo Publishers catalogue. Njabulo Publishers now boasts a large catalogue and recently launched illustrated isiZulu Poems for the young readers entitled, Izinkondlo zeNjabulo. Many of the publications have been reprinted several times.
